There’s something truly magical about baking at Christmas. The scent of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla drifting through the kitchen, the sight of dusted icing sugar that looks just like snow, it never fails to put me in the festive mood.
Every year, I start my little Christmas bakeathon a few weeks before December begins. It’s the best way to test new recipes, make edible gifts and bring joy to family, friends and neighbours. Why I love Christmas baking
For me, baking is more than just making sweets, it’s about slowing down and creating memories. My daughter Summer loves to help decorate the cakes and my son usually pops in to “taste test” the frosting. There’s always laughter, music and a bit of icing sugar everywhere by the end of the day!
