Hello world!

After much procrastination, today marks the official beginning of my food blogging journey! Cooking and baking have always been close to my heart, and sharing homemade meals with my family and friends brings me so much joy.

I live in the UK with my husband and three kids – two boys who greet me every day with the familiar question, “Mummy, what’s for dinner?” Sound familiar? If so, you’re not alone!

I cook most of our meals from scratch, and while that might sound daunting, I promise it doesn’t have to be time-consuming. With some planning, a good strategy, and knowing how to order the cooking process, homemade meals can be both simple and satisfying. Nothing beats the flavour and freshness of homemade food, and that’s exactly what I want to share with others.

Over the years, I’ve shared many of my Vietnamese recipes with friends and colleagues, often typing them up in emails or scribbling them down on scraps of paper. Eventually, I realised there had to be a better way to organise and share these recipes with others who love cooking – or who simply want quick, easy meals to enjoy at home. That’s when the idea of starting a blog took shape.

Inspired by my kids, I chose the name “Summer and Spice – What’s for Dinner?” for this space. Today, I’ve officially set things in motion: settling on the blog name, registering my domain, and setting up hosting with Hostinger. I’ve also started building the site using WP Delicious plugins, which have been great tools for getting started.

My vision for this blog is to make cooking affordable, accessible, and stress-free. I’ll focus on recipes that use everyday ingredients you can find at any supermarket, or even leftovers you already have in your fridge. To make it even more helpful, I’ll include a price breakdown per meal, showing that home cooking doesn’t have to break the bank – in fact, it can help you save quite a lot!

This is just the beginning, and I’m both excited and nervous to see where this journey takes me. I’ll keep you updated as I build out the site and share my first recipes.

Here’s to day one – Let’s get cooking!
